At least eight people were reportedly killed in a suspected cylinder explosion at a hotel in Mumbai's Kurla area on Friday.
Several others were said to be injured in the blast that took place at Hotel City Kinara, located in Kurla West.
According to reports, among those killed were mostly hotel staffers. A woman was among the dead.
The cylinder blast led to a fire at the hotel, according to news agency ANI.
"Prima facie it appears there was a leak in LPG cylinder. The cause will be known after forensic team arrives," Additional CP Raosaheb Shinde was quoted saying by ANI.
