The biggest stars from the music industry came together on Sunday night to make the 33rd edition of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) a grand success. For the first time, MTV VMAs 2016 was aired live from Madison Square Garden, New York City.

The award night witnessed the performances of celebrities like Rihanna, Britney Spears, The Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj among others, but it was Beyoncé Knowles who brought down the house with her stunning performance.

Queen Bey also won the "Video of the Year" award at the VMAs for "Formation" and joined Rihanna and Eminem to win the title more than once. Rihanna was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. RiRi's rumoured boyfriend Drake presented her the award.
