Korean historical drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds ended on Tuesday after airing 18 episodes, and the finale featured a happy ending for Lee Yeong and Ra On, the characters essayed by Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung.

The finale also saw a surprising cameo by Kim Seul-gi, who played the role of a eunuch-in-training, and this has sparked speculation that the makers of the show were setting the stage for a sequel to Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. However, KBS2 is yet to reveal if a sequel is in the works.

Meanwhile, the stars of the show have been taking to their social media platforms to thank viewers for making the show a grand success.

"To everyone who watched KBS 2TV's 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds' all this time and loved the moonlight monarch Lee Young, thank you very much!!" Park Bo Gum wrote on Twitter along with a clip of his character Lee Young.

"I'm thankful and thankful to all the viewers who loved 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds' all this time. May you always be filled with happiness..." Kim Yoo Jung wrote on her Instagram along with a photograph of Ra On sitting in a bed of flowers.

Jinyoung, whose character died in the finale, took to his Instagram to say Moonlight Drawn by Clouds has given him a lot of wonderful memories.

He wrote: "I would like to thank everyone who loved 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds', a production that I found difficult yet sentimental but which will remain in my heart~ I would also like to thank all of the actors and staff, who worked hard despite the hot weather~ It will be a very good memory~ I also thank and love everyone who loved Yoon Sung~ Yoon Sung, I hope you find good love in heaven~"
