The news of the possibility of a fourth instalment of the 'Dhoom' franchise has been doing the rounds for a long time, but Yash Raj Films is reportedly not interested in the project at present.

According to an Emirates 24/7 report, the director of "Dhoom 3", Vijay Krishna Acharya, has been asked to make a period love story with Hrithik Roshan. The makers are on the lookout for a face that fits the script.

"Hrithik was initially not too keen to work on another period film as he is already working on the mother of all period films 'Mohenjo Daro' directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Then Aditya Chopra and Vijay Acharya managed to convince Hrithik to at least give them a patient ear till the final draft of the film is made. Hrithik has more or less made up his mind to work in the film," an insider told the popular web portal.

A few months ago, there were reports of the production house roping in Vijay to direct a fresh action-film franchise, but going by the new buzz it seems it has been put in the back-burner.

"Dhoom has been done. Now, there needs to be another series that sends the audiences pulse racing. The film that Adi has planned with Hrithik, will be turned into a franchise film in the future. But unlike Dhoom, this will have only Hrithik as the central character in its sequels as well, like a Dabangg and Krrish," an insider told DNA.

However, since no official announcement has been made, this piece of news can, at best, be considered as a rumour.

What's interesting is that Hrithik has said he hasn't signed any film, adding his only focus at present is on Ashutosh Gowariker's "Mohenjo Daro", which is slated for an August 2016 release.
