Actress Pooja Hegde, who was recently seen in Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro", has been roped in to play the female lead alongside stylish star Allu Arjun in "DJ" aka "Duvvada Jagannadham".

Allu Arjun's next movie "DJ" was launched at a grand opening ceremony held in Hyderabad on Aug. 29. A day before the launch, the makers of the film revealed its title and the logo of the movie. Mega fans were eager to know about the actress who will play the lead in it. Names of several actresses were speculated to be the top contenders for this much-awaited film.

The latest we hear is that Pooja Hegde has been cast as the heroine of "DJ" and she will be seen romancing Allu Arjun in the movie. SKN aka G Sriniwasa Kumar, the PRO for Mega family, tweeted: "@hegdepooja selected as female lead in Stylishstar @alluarjun powerfuldir @harish2you DilRaju's #DuvvadaJagannadham"

The Mohenjo Daro actress would be seen playing a modern girl in this much-talked about movie and she has good scope for performance. "Pooja has been finalised as the leading lady for 'DJ'. She plays a contemporary girl in this romantic drama and her role will appeal to all sections of the audience," the source from the film unit told IANS.

Harish Shankar of "Gabbar Singh" fame has written the script and will direct "DJ", which is produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC). Allu Arjun and Dil Raju have worked together in "Arya" (2004), "Parugu" (2008) and "Yevadu" (2014), and "DJ" is going to be their fourth film. Regular shooting of the film will commence from October.

Pooja Hegde was the second runner-up of Miss Universe India contest in 2010. She started her acting career with Tamil movie "Mugamoodi" in 2012. The actress forayed into Tollywood with "Oka Laila Kosam" in 2014 and she was later seen in Varun Tej's debut film "Mukunda" the same year. She made her debut in Bollywood with "Mohenjo Daro," which failed to live up to expectations of audience.
