"Modern Family" actress Ariel Winter, who plays Alex Dunphy on the show, recently opened up about her breast reduction surgery, saying the procedure helped her feel good about her body.

In an interview with Glamour, the actress detailed the physical pain she had to endure due to her large breasts, and added that standing up straight for hours proved to be too painful to handle.

Winter, 17, was also disturbed by the fact that her breasts began to attract more attention than her work.

"That's pretty much all I was known for and that upset me. It made me feel really uncomfortable, because as women in the industry, we are totally oversexualized and treated like objects," she told Glamour. "Every article that has to do with me on a red carpet had to do with 'Ariel Winter's Crazy Cleavage!' or 'Ariel Winter Shows Huge Boobs at an Event!'"

When asked about the one incident that pushed her to get the surgery done, Winter said it was the day she realized she couldn't wear the same swimsuits her friends were wearing without drawing unwanted attention to herself.

"I went to a swimsuit store with my cousin a few months ago and couldn't find a bathing suit that fit me. I really felt bad about myself. I didn't feel happy. I just kept saying, 'What am I going to wear? There's nothing for me to wear at the beach, at the pool.' I can't go to a party with my friends and wear the same thing as them. I have to be completely covered up otherwise I'll look a certain way that I'm not intending to look," Winter said.

On 4 June, Winter finally decided to do something about the physical and emotional pain, and underwent breast reduction surgery to reduce her size from a 32 F to a 34 D.

And Winter is happy with the result, saying it feels right now. "It's amazing to finally feel right," she shared. "This is how I was supposed to be."
