Micromax has launched two new budget smartphones in India in a bid to take advantage of the growing consumer demand. Micromax Canvas Selfie 2 and Canvas Selfie 3 bring affordable means of smartphone experience with impressive specifications. The names of the new smartphones clearly indicate that the Canvas Selfie 2 and Canvas Selfie 3 are primarily focused to highlight the camera sensors for selfie lovers.

"Taking the selfie craze to the next level, we are proud to announce the two new smartphones, which are ideal for the users delivering fantastic images and equipping them with great beauty editing tools to look their best always," Vineet Taneja, chief executive officer, Micromax said in a statement, The Mobile Indian reports.

Micromax Canvas Selfie 2 and Canvas Selfie 3 succeed the original Canvas Selfie, which has received a great response from shoppers. Since the original selfie-focused Canvas smartphone is priced higher, Micromax is bringing affordable alternatives for those who are bounded by budget limits. The Canvas Selfie 2 is priced at Rs 5,999 and will hit the stores and be available online starting on 22 August. Micromax is yet to confirm the pricing of its Canvas Selfie 3, but the slightly improved specs suggest it will be priced higher than the Selfie 2.

Micromax Canvas Selfie 2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal space. Measuring 5 inches diagonally, Canvas Selfie 2 boasts FWVGA (854 x 480p) resolution. The main highlight of the handset, its camera, has a 5-megapixel front and rear facing sensor. To enhance the camera experience, Micromax is adding its proprietary Face Beauty mode that lets users adjust complexion and remove skin blemishes in real time. Powering the handset is a 2,000mAh battery unit.

On the other hand, Micromax Canvas Selfie 3 takes the camera experience a notch higher. The handset features an 8-megapixe rear-facing camera with BlueGlass 5P Largan Lens and an 8MP shooter in the front along with LED flash. The handset is slightly smaller than its lower-end model, measuring 4.8 inches, and has HD AMOLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Canvas Selfie 3 is powered by a similar 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage but a slightly bigger 2,300mAh battery.

The Canvas Selfie 3 is expected to be available in the last week of August, DNA reports.

Considering the Canvas Selfie's launch price was Rs 15,999, when it was released in February, and the Canvas Selfie 2 is priced at Rs 5,999, we can expect the Canvas Selfie 3 to be priced between the two models around Rs 11,000.
