Micromax took the wraps off of its latest premium devices last week and revealed new growth strategies to overcome the stiff competition in the smartphone market in India and around the world. Out of 20 new smart devices, Micromax put up its Canvas 6 Pro for pre-orders and it is finally starting to ship out the orders to customers starting Wednesday, April 20.

Micromax will start by honouring the pre-orders first, but the Canvas 6 Pro is available for purchase from the company's official online store. Those who pre-ordered the device should receive their orders by as soon as this week, Indian Express reported.

Micromax also launched the Canvas 6 at the event, but the premium device is still not available for purchase. The Canvas 6 and the Canvas 6 Pro are both priced at Rs. 13,990, but have different features to attract different set of audience. The major difference between the two handsets is that the Canvas 6 sports a metallic body with a fingerprint scanner and the Canvas 6 Pro is a performance-driven handset with premium specifications and a plastic body.

Micromax Canvas 6 Pro is powered by a 64-bit 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio octa-core processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB internal storage. The handset sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution, a fully laminated touch panel and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. As for the camera, the Canvas 6 Pro sports a 13MP primary camera with LED flash, PDAF and 5P Largan lens, and a 5MP front-snapper with 85.7-degree wide-angle 4P Largan lens.

Comparatively, the Canvas 6 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP primary camera, 8MP front camera and a 3,000mAh battery. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

Since both phones carry the same price tag, Micromax adjusted the features of each handset to attract buyers with various requirements. Micromax hasn't revealed the availability of its Canvas 6, which is likely to attract a larger audience given the premium design. But the handset is expected to be available soon.
