Mumbai Indians thrashed Delhi Dardevils by 80 runs in match no. 47 of IPL 2016 in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. It was a much-needed victory for Rohit Sharma & co. as they moved into the top half of the IPL 2016 points table.

Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai Indians as he picked up three crucial wickets during that run chase. His figures read 4-0-13-3.

Krunal Pandya also contributed with the ball as he picked up two wickets.

Delhi Daredevils kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and that hurt the momentum of their run chase. Mayank Agarwal was the first one to depart.

Quinton de Kock took on the Mumbai Indians bowlers. He was finding those boundaries with ease. Karun Nair followed Agarwal soon as he got out after playing a lose shot.

Rishabh Pant and De Kock were looking dangerous together but the latter was caught behind. It was a controversial decision as the replay showed that the bat hit the keeper's gloves first before even the ball went past the bat.

Delhi Daredevils needed partnerships to reach that target. But their were hardly any partnerships.

Earlier, Zaheer Khan had won the toss and chose to field. The wicket turned out to be much different from the ones on which earlier games were played.

Mumbai Indians were off to a cautios start as skipper Rohit Sharma and Martin Guptill added 46 runs in the first wicket.

After that, it was a Krunal Pandya show at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. He was relentless in finding those boundaries. Guptill supported Pandya from the other end. The duo added 98 runs and set the platform for the rest of the batsmen to finish with a flourish.

Jos Buttler and Ambati Rayudu struck some meaty blows towards the end and powered Mumbai Indians to a challenging total of 206 runs for the loss of four wickets.

Delhi Daredevils bowlers were taken for plenty apart from Zaheer Khan. Imran Tahir and Amit Mishra conceded 101 runs in their eight overs. This is where Mumbai Indians batsmen capitalised as they took on the Daredevils' two of the best bowlers.

Mumbai Indians have one more match in their hand and they need nothing but a win in that game to make it to the playoff stages.

However, Delhi Daredevils have three games after this and they still can make it to the final four quite easily. But such kind of performance may just hamper their momentum that they have been in this edition of the IPL.
