German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz is all geared up to embark on 2016 journey in the Indian market with the launch of GLE 450 AMG Coupe. The company pulled the wraps off its GLE 450 AMG Coupe in the country on 12 January.

Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe is the first of the 12 cars the company has lined-up for the domestic market in 2016 and has been pegged at a price tag of Rs 86.4 lakh ( ex-showroom).

In terms of dimensions, GLE 450 AMG Coupe measures 4,891mm in length, 2,003mm in width and 1,719mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,915mm. Powering the GLE 450 AMG Coupe is 2996cc V6 twin-turbo petrol engine that develops 362bhp power at 5500-6000rpm and 520Nm of torque at 1800-4200rpm mated to 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. To be brought to India as CBU (completely built-up unit), Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe can reach 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds before attaining a top speed of 250kmph. The local assembly of the model is likely to start later.

As for styling, GLE 450 AMG Coupe flaunts large grille with gloss-black accents and the black colour treatment is carried in ORVMs that are equipped with turn indicators and to the roof. The front bumper gets large air-intakes while the rear bumper comes with twin chrome exhausts. After the B-pillar, it takes a dramatic slope in line with the coupe car design and comes fitted with 21-inch AMG twin 5-spoke alloys.

GLE 450 AMG Coupe, essentially the coupe version of GLE SUV, will take on the likes of Audi Q5 and BMW X6 in India.
