The much-awaited Meizu M5 has been unveiled in its home country China and will be available for purchase in a few days. The device is already up for registration and it has reportedly received 4.3 million registrations in the first 24 hours.
The registration figures may not necessarily reflect the popularity of the device, as not all who have registered will end up buying it, but it certainly gives a hint that it may have takers.
The Meizu M5 will be up for sale in China at 10:00 am via Meizu Mall, Suning and Tmall on November 7, and will be up for sale again on November 11.
Available in Mint Green, Snow White, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue and Matte Black colours, the Meizu M5 comes with a price tag of 699 Yuan (around $103) for the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM variant, and 899 Yuan (around $132) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory variant.
The Meizu M5 sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (282 ppi pixel density), measures 147.3x72.8x8.2 mm in dimension, and weighs 138 g. Under the hood, it has Mediatek MT6750 processor, Alibaba's Yun OS 5.1 (based on Android operating system), 16GB/32GB internal memory expandable by 256GB via microSD card, and a 2GB/3GB RAM.
The device has 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 3,070mAh battery.
