Maruti Suzuki Sales Records 20% Growth in July

Maruti Suzuki, the county's largest car maker continues to post growth in monthly sales as the company witnessed 20.1% increase in July 2015 at 1,21,712 units.

The company had sold 1, 01,380 cars in July 2014. In July 2015, Maruti sold 37,752 units of Alto and Wagon R, compared to 28,759 units last July, registering 31.3% rise in the mini-passenger segment. The sales of the super-compact Dzire Tour jumped to 3,370 units last month, up from 1,299 units in July 2014.

The compact car segment that includes Swift, Ritz, Celerio and Dzire recorded 13.9% growth at 48,381 units in July against 42,491 units in the corresponding month last year. The sales of Maruti's SX4 in 2014 was 233 units where as its replacement Ciaz clocked sales of 2,099 units.

The sales of utility vehicles Gypsy, Grand Vitara and Ertiga stood at 6,916 in July, up from 5,631 units in the corresponding month last year.

The company sold 11,887 units of Omni and Eeco last month, compared to 11,680 units in July 2014.

Maruti's exports in July recorded 11,307 units, up from 11,287 units in July 2014.
