Following the first set of spy pictures last week that showed the face of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki facelift, a new batch of spy pictures has been emerged online that shows the exterior and interior of the hatchback. The spy pictures taken by Autos Arena in a dealer stockyard also indicate that the launch of the car can be expected anytime soon.
The face of the entry-level hatchback has been revised with newly-designed headlamps and grille. The hexagonal sharp-edged grille has given way to a rounder one in the latest version. The front and rear bumper has been tweaked to add freshness, and the company logo is now housed on the front bumper. There is also space for fog lamps on the bumper, which is not provided in the current Alto 800. Beside these tweaks, there are no changes on side and rear of the car.
The interior is also untouched. However, a new audio unit with USB and AUX-in compatibility can be seen, which is expected to be reserved for the top-spec variant. The door panels now come with a lighter shade as well.
Under the hood, the current 796cc engine is likely to continue. The three-cylinder engine develops 47bhp and 69Nm of torque mated to five-speed manual transmission. Alto, which is the bestselling car in India for over a decade, has been experiencing tough competition after Renault Kwid that made its entry in September last year. Datsun redi-Go hatchback will go on sale in June with a price range of Rs. 2.5 to 3.5 lakh. The facelift is expected to keep Maruti Suzuki's work horse fresh against the new rivals.
