Akkineni starrer "Manam" is doing rock-steady business at the worldwide box office. The film hit the screens on 23 May and took a good opening during its first weekend. It continued to perform well and ended the first week on a grand note.

The film has been performing exceptionally well in the United States. It has surpassed the $1 million mark in four days at the US box office. The Akkineni multi starrer continued to rake in good collections and minted over $1.96 million by Wednesday.

"#Manam [Telugu - USA] Mon $ 166,541, Tue $ 38,370, Wed $ 31,074. Total: $ 1,096,886 [₹ 6.45 cr]. Many screens yet to report. ROCK-STEADY!," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The film has become the ninth Telugu biggie to have made it to the $1 million club after "Dookudu", "Gabbari Singh", "Eega", "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu", "Baadshah", "Attarintiki Daredi", "1 Nenokkadine" and "Race Gurram."

It is the first film of the Akkineni starrer to join the elite club. The romantic comedy drama has turned out to be the biggest earner ever for Naga Chaitanya, who plays one of the leads in the film. It is also expected to be the biggest earner for Nagarjuna by surpassing "Damarukam" in two weeks.

"Manam" has become a crowd puller with family audiences thronging to theatres to watch the film. "After recording a fabulous opening worldwide, 'Manam' has given a new push with demand for bookings for exclusive screenings by families and friends," a statement from the makers read.

"What has been even more remarkable is the way 'Manam' is drawing the whole family audiences to theatres, a major determinant of box office success, it further stated.

The film has been receiving appreciation from critics, celebrities as well as from the audience, who have termed it is a perfect family entertainer to watch this summer.

"Manam" deals with the theme of love spanning 100 years. The film has late actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao in a pivotal role, while Shriya Saran and Samantha appear as female leads.

The family entertainer attracted great feedback and director Vikram Kumar won accolades for his brilliant script. The performances of the actors, rich production values and music by Anoop Rubens are some of the major plus points of the film.

There have been buzz doing the rounds that "Manam" will be remade in other languages including Hindi and Tamil. If the film gets remade in these languages, it will be interesting to see as to who will reprise the roles played by ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya.
