Mahesh Babu's 'Srimanthudu' fails to beat records of 'Baahubali', 'Magadheera' TRP ratings

Superstar Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" has registered superb TRP ratings on its world TV premiere on Zee Telugu, but failed to beat the records of "Baahubali: The Beginning" and "Magadheera".

Zee Telugu, which has acquired the satellite rights of "Srimanthudu" for a whopping price of Rs 12 crore, held the world TV premiere of the movie at 6.00 pm on 8 November. The movie received a fantastic response from the audience. Some of the photos, featuring the die-hard fans performing rituals and praying before the TV when Mahesh appeared on-screen, went viral on the social networking sites.

"Srimanthudu" has reportedly registered 21.24 TRP ratings, driving up Zee Telugu to the top spot in the charts for the week. The movie has beaten the records of Mahesh Babu's previous movie "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu", which was in the third spot with its TRP ratings of 20 points.

The Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan starrer has become the movie with highest TRP aired on Zee Telugu. TV channels like MAA and Gemini shared 5 spots each in the list of the top 10 Telugu movies with the highest TRP ratings. Now, "Srimanthudu" has registered the name of the channel in the list. The bosses of the channel are all thrilled over its performance.

"Magadheera" and "Baahubali: The Beginning" have fetched 22 and 21.84 TRP points respectively and are in the first and second spots in the list of the top 10 Telugu movies with the all-time highest TRP ratings. Considering the star power of Mahesh Babu, the experts from the film nagar had predicted that "Srimanthudu" would break these records and top the chart.

But "Srimanthudu" has fallen back with a very small margin of TRP points in beating the records of "Baahubali: The Beginning" and "Magadheera". The Koratala Siva-directed movie has landed in the third spot in the chart, pushing "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu" down to fourth place.
