"Aagadu" is slated to hit screens on 19 September. The film, directed by Srinu Vaitla, is touted to be a commercial entertainer. Mahesh Babu will be appearing in the role of a cop, while the film's other cast members include Rajendra Prasad, Sonu Sood, Nadhiya, Brahmaji, Brahmanandam, M. S. Narayana, Napoleon and Sai Kumar. Shruti Haasan will be doing an item number along with Mahesh Babu in the film.

Expectations are huge for "Aagadu" as Mahesh Babu has teamed up with director Vaitla for the second time post the success of "Dookudu" in 2011. The director is on a roll with back to back successful films like "Dookudu" and Jr NTR's "Baadshah."

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu's successful streak saw a break with the release of "1 Nenokkadine", a psychological thriller. The film failed to set the cash registers ringing, though it received critical acclaim.

The film is produced by Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara of 14 Reels Entertainment. Its cinematography is helmed by K. V. Guhan and editing is done by M. R. Varma.
