Director Muppalaneni Shiva has slammed reports that Superstar Mahesh Babu is playing a cameo in his father Superstar Krishna's comeback movie "Sri Sri".

It was recently rumoured that Mahesh Babu had agreed to make a guest appearance in the much-talked-about film "Sri Sri". But the director said there has been no discussion on the cameo. "There has been no discussion between the actor and the producers on a cameo, as gossip online suggests," The Times of India quoted Muppalaneni Shiva as clarifying.

He, however, admitted that Mahesh Babu has volunteered to be a voice-over artiste for the movie. "Mahesh Babu pitched the idea to the film's producers that he would like to get on board as a voice-over artiste, and they readily agreed," Muppalaneni Shiva told TOI.

Krishna, who is one of the most popular Telugu actors, has starred in over 350 films in his career spanning five decades. He was last seen as a supporting character in actor Aadi's 2013 film "Sukumarudu". The superstar is all set to return to big screen with his next movie "Sri Sri".

"Sri Sri" tells the story of a common man who imbibes the values of Telugu poet and lyricist Sri Sri, aka Srirangam Srinivasarao, in his life. While Krishna plays the lead role, his wife Vijaya Nirmala and her son, actor Naresh will be seen in key roles in the film.

Muppalaneni Shiva made his debut as a director with Krishna's "Gharana Alludu", which became a super-hit at the box office and gave him a big break. He went on direct films like "Taj Mahal", "Raja", "Sandade Sandadi", "Sankranthi", "Allare Allari" and "Life Style" (2009). After a gap of five years, he has again joined hands with Krishna for "Sri Sri", a revenge drama film with a tag line "Revenge never gets old".
