"Loukyam" hit the screens on 26 September and received decent reviews from the critics. The film took a good opening by raking in over ₹2 crore share on the first day. It continued its good run and earned around ₹1.4 crore on day two. The film's collections picked up on Sunday and earned ₹5.2 crore at the AP/Nizam box office.

Directed by Sriwaas, "Loukyam" is a romantic comedy entertainer with Gopichand and Rakul Preet Singh in pivotal roles.

The film is about Venky (Gopichand) who helps the sister of a local rowdy Babji (Sampath Raj) to elope and get married to his friend. Babji and his men are in search of Venky, who escapes to Hyderabad to avoid getting caught by them. There, he falls in love with Chandrakala (Rakul Preet) and later finds out that she also happens to be Babji's sister.

Chandra Mohan, Prudhvi Raj and Brahmanandam are also part of the film's cast. The Gopichand starrer received good reviews from the critics who had stated that the film is high on entertainment with loads of comedy.

"Loukyam" had a solo release in over 600 screens worldwide. Despite releasing just a week after Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu", "Loukyam" performed well at the box office. The poor performance of "Aagadu" has helped the Gopichand starrer to mint good collections.

It needs to be seen if the film will be able to sustain its momentum from Wednesday (30 September) when Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andarivadele" ("GAV") hits the screens.

The family entertainer, directed by Krishna Vamsi, will be releasing in around 1,200 screens worldwide, including in AP, Telangana, Karnataka, Mumbai, rest of India, the USA and rest of the world.

In AP/Nizam area alone, "GAV" is set to release in more than 750 screens. With such a huge release, "GAV" is expected to dominate the screens in those areas. This will reduce the screen count for "Loukyam" and affect its business at the box office.
