In an attempt to keep its fans informed about the launch and availability of the upcoming flagship device, LG has opened pre-registrations for the device, a day before its unveiling event.

LG G5 will be announced at 14:00 (local time) on Sunday, Feb. 21, a day before the Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016) kicks off, and is expected to be released after a few weeks, most probably in March.

Interestingly, Samsung is also set to announce its next-generation devices, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge on the same day.

The South Korean technology giant has promised big on G5 pre-registration page ahead of its launch.

"The G5's fast processing speed will make this phone ideal for the ultimate multi-tasker. The G5 offers quick and easy access to all of your favorite apps and programs for when you need them most," reads the description on G5 pre-registration page.

According to reports, LG G5 will sport either a 5.6-inch or 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,440x2,560 pixels (538 ppi pixel density), measure 8.2mm in thickness and feature a bezel-less screen.

Under the hood, it is expected to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, a 32GB internal memory (expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card), a 3GB RAM, a 16MP main camera, an 8MP secondary snapper and a Li-Ion 3,000mAh battery.
