Lava mobiles has rolled out two new low-cost Android smartphones to India's burgeoning handset market.

The smartphones, dubbed 3G 356 and 3G 402, launched for ₹4,499 and ₹ 5,499. Although both devices had made its appearance on e-retailers earier, it is only on Wednesday when the company announced the smartphones officially.

Introducing two new 3G smartphones, Hari Om Rai, Co-Founder & Director, Lava International Ltd said, "Lava has introduced affordable, yet fully loaded entry level 3G android smartphones which will now fuel the aspirations of the evolving mobile user in India."

Lava 3G 356

The Lava 3G 356 sports 3.5-inch HVGA display with 320x480 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 256MB RAM. The handset houses a 1.3-megapixel rear camera with flash and a VGA front-facing camera and has supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE and 3G. In terms of memory, the smartphone comes with 100MB of internal storage with expandable option upto 32GB with a microSD card slot. It comes pre-loaded with apps such as LAVA Zone, Twitter, Facebook, Gtalk, Google Maps, Local, MX Player and YouTube. Other features of the handset include a 1500mAh battery which to give upto five hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Lava 3G 402

The Lava 3G 402 boasts of a 4-inch screen with 480x320 pixel resolution and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and comes with 256 MB RAM.On the connectivity front, it supports 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS and houses a 3-megapixel rear camera with flash along with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 1500mAh battery which claims to deliver up to four hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. It also has 100MB user-available internal storage.

"The Lava 3G 356 and 3G 402 are uniquely designed smartphones which lets a consumer enjoy the power of 3G by consuming online content. As 3G-enabled handsets become affordable, mobile internet would be the next big thing in the country which would take penetration to the remote corners of the country. Lava is aiming to drive huge volumes with both models combined," said Hari Om Rai.

The Lava 3G 356 will be available in white, black, and grey and the Lava 3G 402 will come in white, grey, and red colours.
