"Kochadaiiyaan" Releaase

Here is some exciting news for superstar Rajinikanth fans!

There will be no more delays in "Kochadaiiyaan" ("Vikramasimha" in Telugu) release and the film is confirmed to hit the screens on 23 May.

The Rajinikanth starrer was slated to hit theatres on 9 May, but the film's makers Eros International announced the delay in release just two days prior to its actual release date. The makers revealed that the film's release was pushed due to some technical snags.

However, there were speculations that the delay was as a result of a court order. There were reports alleging that a private bank had moved the court against the film seeking repayment of a loan amount obtained by the film's makers.

But, in a press release, Eros had dismissed the reports and maintained that the film's release was delayed due to an increase in demand for more number of screens. The production house stated that there was a sudden demand for additional 2,000 screens worldwide just two days prior to "Kochadaiiyaan" owing to fantastic response for the advance bookings (125,000 tickets were sold out in under two hours in Chennai alone).

"To avoid any last-minute delay on the screening material reaching theatres world-over, the decision was taken to reschedule the film to 23rd May 2014," they said in the statement.

The makers also said that the film's post production work is completed and it has been censored in all six Indian languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, and Bhojpuri. The Rajinikanth starrer will be hitting screens in both 2D and 3D versions worldwide on 23 May.
