Aparna Vinod's new film "Kohinoor" is all set to hit the screens on Thursday, 24 September, but even before its release, she has been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
The actress, who began her career in National Film Award winner Priyanandanan's "Njan Ninnodu Koodeyundu" in 2014, has now been criticised by netizens after she attended the recent episode of Suraj Venjaramoodu's TV comedy show "Comedy Super Nite" in the entertainment channel, Flowers TV on Tuesday, 22 September.
During the show, when she was asked about her debut movie's release, she said "Though the film was released, it looked like only I knew about it".
The statement irked Priyanandanan, who posted a sarcastic message on his Facebook page. "Thank you Aparna Vinod. I have worked with many talented artists, but you excel them all. No one created so much nuisance in the film set as you did. I even asked you to leave the set impressed by your excellent behaviour and acting skills. Irrespective of your waywardness, the whole unit kept peace for the sake of decorum. They never bad-mouthed you. Wishing you all the best since you have started showing your true colours," Priyanandanan posted on Facebook.
Soon after the post went viral, the actress was criticised by many social media users for her immature behaviour.
Aparna, a first year BSc Psychology student, spent some good time at the comedy show. She also shared her experience about working with Asif in the film and said the crew members had a difficult time with her as they had to take many re-takes for her scenes.
"Kohinoor", set in the 1980's is directed by Vinay Govind and is produced by Asif under the banner of Adam's World of Imagination, named after his son Adam Ali. The upcoming Malayalam heist film also has Indrajith Sukumaran, Aju Varghese and Chemban Vinod in pivotal roles.
