Here's some good news for fans of the popular game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" ("KBC"). The ninth edition of the show, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, will reportedly be launched on the Bollywood megastar's birthday (Oct.11).

"KBC 9 will be launched at a grand media event on Amitabh Bachchan's birthday, October 11," a source told DNA.

"KBC 9" will hit the screens after a gap of two years. The delay in airing the ninth season was said to be because of host Big B, who couldn't dedicate time for the shooting of the game show as he was busy with his Bollywood projects including "Shamitabh," "Piku" and "Wazir" and Television's fictional drama, "Yudh."

Senior Bachchan has been associated with the popular game show as the host since it was launched in 2000, except for its third season that was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.

Apparently, "KBC 9" will be bigger and better than its previous seasons. The show will undergo certain changes and the prize money will also be higher than last season's Rs.7 crore. However, show's producer-director Siddhartha Basu refuted the rumours claiming that there is not truth in it.

Last year, fake registration for "KBC 9" was doing the rounds on the Internet and Sr.Bachchan had to warn the aspiring contestants through his official blog regarding the same.

Meanwhile, Big B will next be seen in Soojit Sarkar's "Pink," which also stars Tapsee Pannu.
