Katrina Kaif has become the latest Indian celebrity to find a spot at the prestigious Madame Tussauds in London.

Katrina, who was eagerly waiting for the moment, unveiled her replica on Friday, 27 March at the popular museum.

Decked in shimmering pink, white and silver two-piece Indian outfit, the wax replica looked stunning and flawless.

Delighted at seeing her wax statue, the actress told PTI, "This is amazing it does look really like me."

The statue is a collective effort of 20 dedicated artists and sculptors, who worked closely with the actress for more than four months. The costs of the replica is said to be £150,000 (₹1.39 crore).

According to Madame Tussauds official Twitter page, Katrina has donated the outfit as well as the jewelleries for her wax statue.

"Katrina collaborated closely with the Madame Tussauds artistic team to ensure total accuracy and is delighted with the figure, which is portrayed in a dancing pose wearing a beautiful sequined white, silver and gold, two piece outfit," said a museum spokesperson.

"Our world famous sculptors have worked closely with the Indian film industry over the last decade, and we now have a stellar line-up in a specially created Bollywood area -- one of the most popular in the attraction," Madame Tussauds said in a statement.

Brought up in London, the "Bang Bang" actress feels highly honoured to have her replica at the city's prestigious museum.

"It was really exciting when I first heard the news. It is something which will be there forever," Katrina told IANS at the red carpet of Femina Women Awards.

The "Dhoom 3" actress was selected after a poll was conducted last year by Madame Tussauds website. The gorgeous actress beat her contemporaries Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone to win the contest with more than 225,000 votes.

The "Fitoor" actress has now become the seventh Bollywood actor to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan (2000), Aishwarya Rai (2004), Shah Rukh Khan (2007), Salman Khan (2008), Hrithik Roshan (2011) and Madhuri Dixit-Nene (2012), have been honoured with a figure at Madame Tussauds, London.
