Vijay-Murugadoss's "Kaththi", which was released three weeks ago, is still ruling the box office despite new releases. The film has continued to dominate big screens as the Vijay starrer has managed to mint huge collections for multiplexes.

"#Kaththi is minting money 4 TN multiplexes in 3 rd weekend - tax free, shared 65% for theatre & 35% for distributor. So given big screens," an entertainment industry tracker, Sreedhar Pillai, tweeted.

"Kaththi" has turned out to be a blockbuster and has also emerged as this year's highest grossing Tamil film. The film noticed average theatre occupancy of 70% during the weekend and is estimated to have earned ₹6.71 crore in 19 days, according to Behindwoods.

The Vijay starrer has surpassed the Chennai collections of Dhanush's "Velai Illa Pattathari" ("VIP") (₹6.66 crore), Ajith's "Veeram" (₹6.14 crore) and Vijay's "Jilla" (₹5.68 crore).

"Kaththi" has been performing well in India as well as in overseas markets ever since its release. The film took grand openings on the first day and continues to rake in fantastic collections at the box office. It surpassed the ₹100 crore mark in just 12 days and became second film in Vijay's career, after "Thuppakki," to enter the elite club.

Meanwhile, the Telugu version of "Kaththi" is gearing up for release. Earlier, there were reports emerging that several producers had shown interest in remaking the film. But, later it was confirmed that the dubbed Telugu version will release soon.

According to latest reports, "Kaththi" dubbed version is expected to hit the screens on 21 or 28 November. The Tamil version has a two-hour-46-minute runtime, while the Telugu version will be trimmed by 20 minutes.

"We are doing the re-recording and are also trimming it a little," producer Tagore Madhu, who has bagged the distribution rights of the Telugu dubbed version, told Deccan Chronicle.

One needs to wait and watch if the dubbed version of "Kaththi" will reap success at the box office similar to the Tamil version.

Directed by Murugadoss, "Kaththi" is an action entertainer with Vijay appearing in dual roles. The film also has Samantha, comedian Sathish and Bollywood actor Neil Nithin Mukesh playing pivotal characters. Anirudh has composed the soundtracks of "Kaththi," while the film is produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Productions.
