Vijay-Murugadoss's "Kaththi" has emerged a big hit at the worldwide box office. The film has minted ₹113 crore in 19 days at the worldwide box office. The domestic collection of the film stands at approximately ₹81.5 crore, while it has fetched ₹31.5 crore from overseas markets.

The Vijay starrer has minted ₹64.25 crore as distributor share, according to Andhraboxoffice. The website also stated that the film has recovered the worldwide theatrical price estimated at approximately ₹62 crore, which makes it a hit venture.

"Kaththi" has been listed in all-time highest grossing Tamil films. The top two spots have been taken by Rajinikanth, followed by Vijay with "Thuppakki" and "Kaththi" in the list.

The film has performed fantastic business, not just in India, but also in overseas markets. It took grand openings on its release by surpassing "Endhiran" collections in Tamil Nadu. The film also fared exceptionally well in neighbouring markets like Kerala and Karnataka.

"Kaththi" created a new record in the United States by emerging as the first non-Rajinikanth, non-Kamal Haasan film to surpass $400,000. The film has so far minted $600,000 at the US box office, thus proving Vijay has a huge market only next to Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. The film has also done well in other key markets like the UK, Australia and Malaysia and emerged as one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year.

With "Kaththi" turning out to be hugely successful, there have been huge expectations for the actor's next film, referred to as "Vijay 58." The film's shooting will commence today on the outskirts of Chennai.

The first schedule will span for 45 days and is expected to last till December end. The team began the film's shoot with a song featuring Vijay and Hansika.

Initially, the shoots will have the lead actors, while Sridevi will join them later this week. More than 300 dancers will be taking part in the song, which will have Vijay sporting a gladiator look, reported The Times of India.

Hansika is reportedly playing the role of a princess, while Sridevi will appear as her mother. Kannada actor Sudeep dons the role of a commander in the film. Shruti Haasan, for the first time, plays the female lead opposite Vijay in the film, which is touted as a fantasy film.

Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the songs for the untitled project. Produced by Shibu of Thameens Films and PT Selvakumar, "Vijay 58" is reportedly being made with a budget of around ₹80 crore.
