Kate Middleton stole the spotlight at the premiere of "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom" on Thursday, despite the presence of several Hollywood celebrities.

The Royal couple - Prince William and Middleton - was the guest of honour at the UK premiere of "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom," a biopic of former South African president and iconic anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela, who passed away at his home in Johannesburg on Thursday, after succumbing to a lung infection.

Middleton, who gave birth to a baby boy in July, has shed the baby weight. She looked stunning in a white gown with a slit to the thigh, as she walked the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square with her husband William by her side.

The premiere was also attended by British actors Idris Elba, who portrays Mandela in the film, and Naomie Harris, who plays his wife Winnie. Mandela's daughter Zindzi Mandela was also present at the premiere, which was held before Madiba passed away.

"Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" broke all records at the domestic box office (South Africa) to become the highest grossing film in the country, even before completing a week at the theatres. It was first premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival in September, before being released in South Africa on 28 November and a day later in the United States.

The Justin Chadwick film has collected R4.4 million ($427,000) so far, breaking records held by "The Wolverine", "Hangover 3" and other films, according to a report by Agence France Presse (AFP). According to Los Ageles Times, the film made a solid box office debut in four theaters in the United States on Friday, earning about $100,300 through Sunday, averaging more than $25,000 per theater.
