Karthi and Nagarjuna-starrer "Thozha" will be released this Friday, March 25. The bilingual film will see the light of the day in over 1,600 screens worldwide.

The early estimates from the industry say that "Thozha" will be released in above 400 screens in Tamil Nadu. "#Thozha releasing big around 400 screens in TN via Chennai & Chengalpet: SPI Cinemas, North & South : S Pictures, TK--Avatar Mani, TT- GeeTee, MR-Vasanth Cine Kaleeswaran, Coimbatore-Mannar films Salem-Ganeshan. "Thozha," along with its Telugu version "Oopiri," will be released in 500 screens in Andhra Pradesh, 200 in Telangana, 120 in Karnataka, 70 in Kerala and about 100 in North India. It will release in over 225 screens overseas. The movie is expected to get a massive release in the U.S., where Karthi and Nagarjuna have good fan following.

The advance booking for the movie has started in Tamil Nadu and it is getting good response from the fans of Karthi and Nagarjuna. In fact, exhibitors have allotted prime shows for "Thozha," which will clearly benefit the flick at the box office.

There have not been big releases in the recent months and this factor has helped "Thozha" to get so many screens, say industry insiders.

Vamsi Paidipally has written and directed "Thozha." Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Ali and others are part of the cast. Anushka Shetty, Shriya Saran, Adivi Sesh and a few other celebrities have made guest appearances in the bilingual flick.

The movie tells the story of a quadriplegic millionaire and an emotionally-challenged person. While Nagarjuna plays the role of a physically-challenged man, Karthi plays his caretaker in "Thozha." It is the South Indian remake of French movie "The Intouchables."
