Kapil Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan have elaborate plans for the maiden episode of "The Kapil Sharma Show," which airs April 23, 9 p.m. on Sony Entertainment. The new and improved version will present the superstar in a "completely different light."

"SRK will be there to promote his new film Fan. But it won't be just another simple promotional episode. Shah Rukh will be presented on the show in a completely different light. One thing Kapil won't do is take potshots at Comedy Nights. In fact there will be no mention of Kapil's earlier show at all," The Asian Age quoted a source as saying.

If this piece of news is anything to go by, Kapil is off to a great start. Meanwhile, Krushna Abhishek and his team at "Comedy Nights Live" are apparently struggling to meet expectations. The TRP ratings have dipped and there's been a visible drop in the number of A-listers attending the show.

An insider said Krushna producing similar content on both of his shows — "CNL" and "Comedy Nights Bachao" — is what's affecting the ratings severely. "Last week the starlet Adaa who is a regular stand-up comedian on Comedy Bachao on Saturday showed up as Krushna Abhishek's guest on Comedy Nights the next night. The show is rapidly losing its spark," the source further elaborated.

While Kapil is certain about not picking fights with his peers, Krushna is readying himself for another battle. He told the leading daily that there were no chances of a "ceasefire" between the two. "Earlier there was no fun because we were not at par. But now we are in neck-to-neck competition. So there obviously will be a face-offs between us and I am ready to take him head on," he added.
