Actor Kamal Haasan recently met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of Art of Living, at his ashram in Bengaluru. The photos of the meeting have been released by the actor's fans page on Twitter.

The Universal Star's visit has generated a lot of curiosity in the minds of the audience as Kamal Haasan is known to be an atheist. The "Vishwaroopam" actor has never shied away from expressing his belief in his films and hence, his meeting with the spiritual guru has surprised his critics.

Coincidentally, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's birthplace is Papanasam, the name of Kamal Haasan's recent movie.

It may be recalled that Kamal Haasan had hit the headlines for similar reasons during the shooting of "Papanasam". The actor had called on Vanamamalai Jeer, the head of the Vaishnavite Mutt at Nanguneri.

It had been a hot topic of debate and later, writer Jayamohan had clarified that the shooting of films is not permitted in those temples, which comes under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department in Tamil Nadu.

However, Jeer allowed the team to shoot the film in the mutt's premises and that is why the actor paid a courtesy visit to the pontiff.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is busy with his next film "Thoongavanam", which is said to be the remake of French movie "Nuit Blanche". Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead in the movie that also features Prakash Raj, Kishore, Asha Sarath, Sampath Raj, Uma Riyaz Khan, Madhu Shalini and others.

The schedule of "Thoongavanam", which might clash with big films like Ajith's "Thala 56", and Dhanush's "VIP 2", is progressing at a brisk pace, as the makers want to release the film for Diwali. This will be third release for Kamal Haasan in 2015 after commercially flop "Uttama Villain" and average grosser "Papanasam".
