"Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa 8" has doled out some great performances over the past few weeks, but most came with a price to pay.

After Sanaya Irani injured her ribs, Shamita Shetty landed a fractured nose during the dance rehearsals on Thursday.

Talking to HT City, Mumbai (27 July), she said it was a freak accident. "I fractured my nose while rehearsing on Thursday (July 23). It was a freak accident. I dashed into my choreographer Deepak," the actress further elaborated.

The gash, resulting from the accident, was bad and had to be surgically fixed. The insides of her nose have been stitched now.

"They had to stitch the inside of the nose, and now it is in a plaster and tough to manage. The painkillers and antibiotics are taking a toll on my body, as I feel drained of all my energy," she said.

However, this hasn't marred her spirit and she will rehearse for her upcoming performance, only with an easy routine.

"I am feeling terrible. I am supposed to rest for two weeks at least, and not be performing. But, as they say, the show must go on. I am sad that my act won't be as power-packed as my earlier ones. Right now, I don't know how I will dance with a plaster on my nose, but an injury won't keep me out," she added.

Shilpa Shetty has praised her strong-willed sister and shared a photo of her's with the plaster. "Viaan wants Maasi to don his Iron man mask to cover her boo boo on the face. You're a brave girl @ShamitaShetty. Can't believe you still want to perform. Hats off to Ure spirit. U go girl (sic)," she wrote.

Sanaya too hurt her ribs during the rehearsals but shot for the episode resisting the pain. Later, she was reportedly rushed to a hospital where she was advised six days of bed rest.

In other news, Dipika Kakar was eliminated this week.
