International Anti-Corruption Day 2015United Nations

The United Nations observes International Anti-Corruption Day every year on 9 December, and the theme for this year is "Break the Corruption Chain".

The international campaign "focuses on how corruption undermines democracy and the rule of law, leads to human rights violations, distorts markets, erodes quality of life and allows organised crime, terrorism and other threats to human security to flourish".

The UN General Assembly designated the date as International Anti-Corruption Day in 2003 in order to raise awareness about corruption that has disastrous impacts on development through out the world.
