Opening Ceremony of Indian Super League (ISL)
A still from the opening ceremony of the Indian Super League last yearIANS

It's just a day and a few more hours to go for the second edition of the Indian Super League to get underway. It's that time of the year when all the sounds and music of 'Let's Football' dominate the television sets and bring every football fan in India together to enjoy two hours of great action almost every day.

The eight franchisees start their proceedings on Saturday as the ISL kicks off, and the beautiful game travels to every nook and corner of the country. Football, more specifically Indian football, will once again dominate the headlines in the newspapers and the news channels, and also become one of the major topics of discussion in the lunch and dinner table.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai is set to host the first game of the second season, as defending champions Atletico de Kolkata take on the home side Chennaiyin FC -- who were the league leaders in the last season of the tournament.

The action also unfolds to seven other venues across India, as the franchisees gear up to challenge the Kolkata side in an effort to snatch the title, and etch their name in the history books, just like Atletico de Kolkata did last year.

The full schedule of fixtures of Indian Super League season 2: All matches start 7 pm IST (1.30 pm GMT, 9.30 am ET).
