India did not have a fruitful 2015 when it came to the 50-over format, but did extremely well to climb to the 2nd position in the latest ICC Test rankings. They did not play enough T20 international matches, to make a judgement.

But 2016 is going to be a pretty busy year for Team India. They will embark on yet another tour of Australia where they will be playing a five-match ODI series and three T20s, starting from 12 January, 2016.

Team India are also scheduled to play a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka at the former's home soil in Ferbruary 2016, but the dates and the venues of the series have not been confirmed by either of the Boards till now. This series is supposed to take place just ahead of the Asia Cup T20 2016, which will be held in Bangladesh.

Asia Cup used to be an ODI tournament, but with the ICC World T20 2016 on the horizon, it has been turned into a T20 tournament. This will be good platform for all the players to be in good shape and form just ahead of the World T20 in March which will take place in India. Post the ICC World T20 2016, the players will engage themselves in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the month of June, India are expected to tour Zimbabwe for one Test and three ODI matches.

BCCI have recently revoked the suspension imposed on bilateral tours with the West Indies by clearing India's tour of the Caribbean in July and August, where they are scheduled to play four Test matches, with a few limited-overs matches possible as well.

Bangladesh will then tour India for a solitary Test match. The dates and further schedule of this series is yet to be announced. There might be a ODI and T20 series following that Test match as well.

New Zealand will tour India for three Tests and five ODI matches in the month of October.

England will follow the Kiwis and tour India for five Test matches in November and December.
