The Board of Control for Cricket in India is always on the lookout for spreading the wings of cricket, far and wide, popularising the sport in various parts of the world. India played a three-match T20 series against West Indies in the US in 2016, and the BCCI is said to be mulling the idea of playing in the country once again.
But, this time, it could be much bigger than last time around with Virat Kohli and his boys, obviously, being a major attraction. As per Cricbuzz report, BCCI is planning a triangular series in Florida with two other strong cricket teams, England and Australia.
If the series does go ahead, it could be a huge thing for cricket fans living in the US, and mind you, there is a large Indian population in the US, and people should pour in numbers to see some of the biggest world stars.
The quality of cricket produced when India and West Indies played in Florida was top class, and it could be even breathtaking action once again, provided all the three nations send their best players.
The BCCI Chief Executive Officer, Rahul Johri, already seems to have opened up discussion with those concerned people, Tom Harrison from England and Wales Cricket Board and James Sutherland from Cricket Australia.
Now, it remains to be seen if any sort of agreement will be finalised in the coming weeks or so. However, there is no confirmation as to when the series will be played and in what format -- ODI or T20 -- the latter seems to be an ideal choice to popularise the sport further.
