This Diwali, every online retailer is going to put its best foot forward. While Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal have a lot in store for shoppers next month, ShopClues promises not to lag behind in the race with some exciting offers of its own.

The online retailer announced its participation in the upcoming festival sale with its ShopClues Diwali Sale. Ahead of the exciting festival sale next month, we spoke to Nitin Agarwal, AVP marketing at ShopClues, regarding the competition, plans, targets and offers that will set ShopClues apart in the fierce competition.

Below are the excerpts from our exclusive interview with Agarwal.

International Business Times, India: While Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon have a lot in store for Diwali, what is ShopClues planning to offer this festive season?

Nitin Agarwal: We have a lot in store ourselves – for our customers, we have an exclusive Diwali Sale that will run from October 1st to 10th. We have a host of surprise sales that will run before and after the same, offering a diverse range of products across categories at jaw-dropping prices. Since our focus remains on tier 2, 3 and beyond consumers, we have introduced a range of products in consumer electronics, ethnic fashion and Home and Kitchen categories at unique price points for them.

For our merchants, in line with ShopClues' merchant first approach, we have a host of initiatives that would help them grow and enhance their business during the festive season, starting with Capital Wings – an initiative to roll out short term loans to merchants, to AdZone – a merchant ad bidding platform, through which merchants can showcase custom ads on the platform.

IBT: When will ShopClues begin Diwali-exclusive sale?

Agarwal: October 1st to October 10th

IBT: What are your target sales and revenue this holiday season?

Agarwal: We are targeting a 200% growth from last year.

IBT: Why should shoppers look out for ShopClues this Diwali or any other festival?

Agarwal: Consumers have a variety of reasons to look to ShopClues for Diwali, and other upcoming reasons – from the widest selection of products across all categories to the unbelievable prices they are available at, and the exciting festive deals – it's a whole shopping experience that we've lined up for our customers. As stated above, we have a wide collection of products in several categories like consumer electronics, ethnic fashion and Home and Kitchen, at unique prices for consumers, especially from tier 2 and 3 cities.
