Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are getting extremely cozy on "The Vampire Diaries" set, but they are afraid of an affair due to a possible Backlash, claims a report.

Although it is pretty clear that there is nothing more than a true friendship between Somerhalder and Dobrev, media is speculating on their secret relationship.

A recent article by celebdirtylaundry.com stated that the celebs are getting so "touchy and feely" on "The Vampire Diaries" set that it might be making "The Twlight" star uncomfortable.

The publication even mentioned about a possible reunion between Somerhalder and Dobrev as they are "completely enamoured with each other."

Another reason cited by the article is the rumoured past of the actor, according to which the celeb cheated on his ex-girlfriend before dating Dobrev.

"But even if they're thinking about a reunion and an affair, they realise that cheating on Nikki Reed and then reuniting publicly might cause too strong of a backlash," reported the entertainment site.

However, the celebs does not seem to be affected by the ongoing speculations as they are comfortably moving on with their lives.

Somerhalder, who portrays Damon Salvatore and Dobrev, who plays Elena Gilbert on The CW's popular supernatural drama, called off their relationship in May 2013.
