Japanese auto giant Honda's recently unveiled Jazz diesel variant will reportedly not reach the sub-continent markets in 2014.

Jazz diesel, one of the most anticipated vehicles of 2014, is likely to hit India only in early 2015, reported Rushalne. Unveiled at the recently concluded Delhi Auto Expo 2014, Jazz was expected to make its India entry during the festival season this year. However, new reports, citing the sources close to the development, suggest that the launch of Jazz diesel is unlikely in 2014.

Sporting a redesigned look and features, the new Jazz has been earning tremendous response in Japan, where it is on sale already. The India-bound versions of the latest Jazz was expected to come in both petrol and diesel engine variants. The petrol version of the Jazz is speculated to pack the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio. It can generate a power of 87bhp, with a torque of 110Nm @ 4800rpm. The diesel Jazz is likely to pack a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor, which can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque.

The car will come loaded with features like power steering with mounted audio controls, front and rear power windows, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, climate control unit and more.

However, Honda's Mobilio MPV, which made its appearance at the Auto Expo along with the new Jazz, is likely to mark its entry into the domestic market by the end of 2014. Talking of the engine specifications of Honda Mobilio, the petrol model of the car will pack a 1.5-litre i-VTEC motor, which can churn out a power of 117bhp, and the diesel variant will come with 98bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit.
