Liam Payne, English singer and celebrity member of boy band "One Direction," has bought the car that was used in the 2002 movie "Harry Potter and the Chamber of the Secrets."

Payne, who is a huge fan of Harry Potter stories and movies, bought the Ford Anglia for a hefty six figure sum.

The car was featured in the second Harry Potter movie where Harry and Ron had flown it to Hogwarts as the car was bewitched and was able to fly.

Payne is known for his love for Harry Potter franchise among his fans too. On 15 August, he celebrated his birthday by throwing a Hogwarts-themed party that even had a cake designed like a spell book from the movies.

Noise 11 has reported that while appearing on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 breakfast show, Payne revealed the purchase.

"I bought the Harry Potter car and I put it in my garden," he said, "You know the blue car, the flying car? I bought one because I am a bit of a geek."

Besides owning an original piece from the Potter movies, Payne is also an official member of Potter's school house Gryffindor.

Payne said that he became a member of Gryffindor via an internet test.

"I did the test on the website. My friend got Hufflepuff and I got Gryffindor. He was annoyed."

Apart from Payne, his fellow band mate, Niall Horan is also a dedicated Harry Potter fan.

On his Twitter account, Niall wrote, "Not gona lie, I am obsessed with Harry Potter now. I have watched 5 movies in three days since I have been to the studio tour!"

Both Liam and Niall are making sure to have plenty of time for enjoying their Harry Potter hobbies as they won't be doing any new gig before March 2016. After it, they will be going on a year-long journey travelling and performing in various countries around the globe.
