The Thanksgiving Day, which is mainly celebrated in the United States and Canada, is traditionally observed with special thanksgiving ceremonies following the harvest.
The day, which is observed to mark the harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrim Fathers in 1621, falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the US (Canada celebrates the Thanksgiving Day on second Monday of October).
The first Thanksgiving Day holiday was declared by former US President George Washingston in 1789, which was also on 26 November.
