The 'most famous rodent' on the Earth – Mickey Mouse -- will turn 86 on Tuesday, 18 November.

'Born' on 18 November 1928, the little mouse is best known around the world as 'Walt Disney's famous mouse'.

Mickey's Rise to Stardom

Mickey Mouse debuted in the 1928 animated short film Steamboat Willie and went on to become a familiar figure at Walt Disney studios. The date when the mouse first appeared on screen, 18th November, is referred to as his birthday. The joyful rodent wearing white gloves and red shorts, has starred in dozens of Disney cartoon movies and the 1940 animated feature Fantasia became one of the world's best-known cartoon characters.
