Happy birthday John Abraham: Rare photos, some facts about Dishoom actor

Bollywood hunk John Abraham turns 43 on 17 December.

After his 2013 release "Madras Café", the actor didn't appear in movies for a year. He then appeared on screen in "Welcome Back" this year.

However, 2016 will bring several releases of John including "Wazir", "Dishoom" and "Force 2".

• John studied with Hrithik Roshan, Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bacchhan in the same school -- Bombay Scottish School.

• John wanted to become an architect like his father and brother, but got into media relations.

• He was announced as the Gladrags Manhunt Super Model runner up and he won the title in 1999.

• Before films, John featured in an album named "Surma", by Punjabi singer Jazzy B.

• He turned down films like "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom", "Nazar", "Kal Ho Na Ho", "Guru"and "Happy New Year".

• In real life, he hates going to parties and dance clubs and detests youths drinking and doing drugs. 

• John, his wife Priya Runchal and ex-girlfriend Bipasha Basu used to hang out at a gym in Bandra years back.

• He was in a short term relationship with the actress Riya Sen.

• John has a production house (makers of "Vicky Donor" and "Madras Café") named JA entertainment.

• His film "Vicky Donor" was honoured with National Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Popular Entertainment.
