"Grey's Anatomy" will be back on ABC with a brand new season on Sept. 22.

Season 13 will see more drama in Meredith's relationship as she is now involved with Martin Henderson's Nathan, who has unknowingly attracted Meredith's sister Maggie's interest. As viewers of the medical drama saw, the season 12 finale had Maggie revealing to Meredith that she was falling for Nathan, and added that she believed he too harboured feelings for her. This took Meredith by surprise, as it wasn't long before she hooked up with Nathan.

If Meredith will continue hooking up with Nathan is yet to be revealed, but Maggie is definitely going to be devastated when she comes to know the truth about Nathan and Meredith's affair.

Another relationship that's in troubled waters is that of Alex and Jo. The Season 12 finale saw Alex beating up Andrew after falsely believing that the intern was trying to take advantage of a drunk Jo. Alex is yet to be told the truth about her past, which is expected to come tumbling out in the upcoming season.

According to Camilla Luddington, Jo's reason for not filing for divorce or revealing the truth to Alex is her desire to keep her safe from the man who abused her all through her marriage.

"She's drunk but from what she said, her husband is super charismatic and everyone loved him," Luddington told The Hollywood Reporter. "At the same time, he was extremely dangerous. She thinks if she files, he will be able to find her and she has gone almost undercover; she ran from him and, in her mind, disappeared from him. Jo thinks that will unearth everything and he'll find her. She's protecting herself and Alex at the same time because her husband is dangerous and if he found out Jo was with Alex, that could be a bad thing for Alex, too."

"Grey's Anatomy" will return to ABC in the fall.
