Tech behemoth Google is now selling the Titan Security Key, which is a two-factor authentication (2FA) token aimed at bolstering security. This security key, although, is not a final say on hacking attacks but it has come a long way in terms of warding off the breaching attempts at online accounts.

The Titan Security key, which is being sold via the Google store at this moment, consists of a Bluetooth key, a USB key, and the necessary connectors.

This is the same key, that has been made available last month to Google Cloud users, however, now the security dongle can be used by any individual who is vested in tightening the security of their Google account and other online points of access.

In the Google Cloud blog, the tech giant explains at length that these Titan keys are built on the FIDO standards. The objective here is to prevent hacks from rearing its head by making actual use of them. The tech giant also cited that the firmware that strongholds the crypto operations is not hackable prior to their delivery to the consumers.

In its blog post, Google said, "Security keys are appropriate for any security-conscious user, and we recommend that all users, especially high-value ones such as IT administrators, consider authenticating via security keys. Titan Security Keys can be used anywhere security keys are supported as a second factor of authentication, including Google's Advanced Protection Program that is designed for anyone at risk of targeted attacks – like journalists, activists, business leaders, and political campaign teams."

The Titan Security Keys are currently being made available to US consumers, however, Google plans on making it available to more regions eventually.
