"The Good Wife" season 7 premiere, titled "Bond", is likely to focus on the various challenges faced by Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) as she tries to revive her law career on Sunday, 4 October.

The first episode of the CBS drama, which will be live streamed here at 9pm, will take viewers to a bond court, wherein the protagonist meets lawyer Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo). According to the official synopsis, the Governor's wife will have to compete with the new character to represent her clients, who are seeking bail.

However, Julianna Margulies teased that her character will be strong enough to fight against her rival. "Alicia's starting from scratch again and she's always best when she's at the bottom of the barrel," E!Online quoted her as saying.

Explaining further about her character, the cast member said, "What I know about the show, it's a very smart show that kind of reinvents itself every year and I think this is going to continue along those traditions and I think we're really going to see Alicia get back to her roots and hopefully along the way there will be some sizzle to that".

The actress even stated that the new additions in the cast list will bring some spark to the show. " I think the additions of Cush and Margo [Martindale]—I just think it's going to be a really good year," she said.

Meanwhile, the description of premiere episode stated that Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) will bring in national strategist Ruth Eastman (Margo Martindale) to help with his presidential campaign and will create an interesting dynamic with Eli in the process.
