Ford India is expected to resume the bookings of its fast moving crossover EcoSport in the country in October, says a report.

According to Motoroids, the booking of EcoSport which has been suspended currently due to overwhelming demands, is likely to be on the right track in October. Even though the company is yet to talk about its plans for EcoSport after its suspension, it is believed that Ford cannot miss the festive season in India like any other auto makers here who strive to cash in on the festive season which is considered propitious to engage in business.

"Ford India dealer revealed that the bookings might remain suspended till the advent of festive period," reported Motoroids quoted a source.

EcoSport, the compact SUV from the US auto Major Ford has been a successful endeavor ever since its entry into the domestic market in June. It received more than 30,000 bookings within the first 17 days of its launch in India on 26 June and the demand is still high despite a few glitches.

The factors like price and features of Ecosport have helped the company to escalate the demand for the vehicle in India even at a time when the overall market is hitting the all time low. It is pitted against Renault Duster, Mahindra Quanto and Premier Rio in India and is marketed at a starting price of ₹5.59 lakh.

Meanwhile, the waiting period of Ford EcoSport has now extended upto 12 months due to the increasing demand for the SUV in the Indian market.
