Motorola has just begun to send out invites to the media outlets for a launch event on 14 September, confirming that the new Moto X Play will indeed make it official debut next week in India.
The much-awaited Motorola Moto X Play will be reportedly launched next week. Motorola's official e-commerce partner Flipkart 'accidentally' kickstarted a count-down clock on company's Moto X Play dedicated page (HERE), revealing that the phone would be released at 2:00pm on 14 September.
Once the word got out, the e-retailer pulled the timer off the Internet for reasons unknown, but by then, many tech blogs had taken the screenshot of the page.
Just a few days ago, Motorola pulled a similar stunt in US. The company 'inadvertently' posted a message on Twitter that the new Moto X series will go on sales on 3 September. But for inexplicable reasons, the message was taken down.
To everyone's surprise, Motorola Mobility began taking pre-orders for Moto X Pure Edition (aka Style series) on 2 September, one day prior to the aforementioned date.
This looks like a marketing strategy by both the companies to keep the buzz alive till the official launch. We believe Moto X Play sale in all probability will go live on 14 September or at least by the following weekend. The device is expected to be priced between Rs 22,000 and Rs 25,000.
For the uninitiated, Moto X Play houses the company's proprietary Motorola Mobile Computing System with natural language processor, contextual computing processor and 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core chipset. It is backed by 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory.
The device boasts a 3,630 mAh high-capacity battery with enough juice to run the phone for close to 48 hours under mixed usage.
Other notable features are a 21mp main camera, which boasts Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) flash with dual LED support, burst mode, night mode, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus), 4K video recording, Quick-capture (twirl smartphone twice to launch camera) and video HDR (for both 4K and full HD).
As of now, there is no official word from Motorola on when the company would release Moto X Style in India. Stay tuned for more updates.
