"The Flash" is fast approaching the Season 1 finale and with episode 20, "The Trap", the CW show proved that it is entering a whole new arena of badass. Season 1 episode 21 of the show, "Grodd Lives", will give viewers more information about Dr Wells' friend and the famous DC supervillain Grodd - the Gorilla, who was first seen in "Plastique".

Now that the Reverse Flash's (Tom Cavanagh) identity is in the open, he will be bringing war to Barry (Grant Gustin). According to the synopsis for "Grodd Lives", Dr Wells' secret weapon against "The Flash" is Gorilla Grodd (David Sobolov).

Barry, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) go looking for Gross in the sewer that he used to live in. The fans are warned to brace for an intense showdown between "The Flash" and the Reverse Flash.

Dr Wells had previously used Grodd to destroy General Wade after he tried to kidnap Barry and FIRESTORM (Robbie Amell/ Victor Garber) so as to harness their powers. Then, Dr Wells/Eobard Thawne had informed Wade, "I protect my own." However, this time, he is not unleashing Grodd to protect Barry and the gang. He clearly wants to destroy them or at least give them an intense shakedown.

Four years before the particle accelerator mishap had occurred, Grodd was a test subject at S.T.A.R. Labs where enhanced gene therapy experiments were conducted on him. Although Wells shut down the experiments after witnessing Wade's inhumane ways, he kept Grodd by his side.

After Grodd escaped from his cage during the particle accelerator accident, he began living in the sewer. So far, it is known that Grodd has super-animal strength and the ability to communicate telepathically.

To learn more about Grodd, watch out for "The Flash" Season 1 episode 21 on The CW at 8.00 pm (EST) on Tuesday, 5 May.
