Filmfare Awards 2016 was aired on Sunday night, and the viewers aren't too pleased with the spectacle the makers tried creating with the show. Social media users slammed it saying it was all rigged and fake as deserving artistes weren't given their due.

"Bajirao Mastani" and "Piku" sweeped most awards and unfortunately some brilliantly-made films stayed unappreciated. Irrfan Khan's "Talvar" was one of them. "Masaan," "Manjhi – The Mountain Man" and a few critically acknowledge films were partially left out of the race. Sooraj Pancholi grabbing the Best Debut Actor Award was not welcomed by most.

However, amid all the negatives, Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Sharma's side-splitting gigs were a highlight. Deepika Padukone's dad's letter was another plus that she read out after winning the coveted black lady for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Also, SRK and Singh's random jig on "Malhari" was a show stealer.

In other news, Salman Khan's fans had earlier gone berserk over the organisers of the award show and had branded it fake. So, the ongoing rage is nothing new.

Below are a few tweets:

Aniruddha Guha: The #FilmfareAwards has gotten a lot more unwatchable. I'd watch undeserving nominees win if at least the ceremony wasn't so darn boring.
