According to the synopsis of the episode: "Thanks to dog years, Brian is the only one old enough to drink when Mayor West raises the drinking age to 50, so Peter makes Brian buy his beer."

In the previous episode, titled "An App a Day," Peter learnt about phone apps and when he gave his phone to Chris, he sent a girl a photo of his genitals which resulted in him being labelled as a sex offender. Meanwhile, Brian and Stewie took up tennis.

At the Drunken Clam, Peter Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, Cleveland Brown, and Joe Swanson were having drinks when the jukebox played a song. Peter and Quagmire argued over which singer was singing on the jukebox until Cleveland solved the argument by using the mobile app Shazam.

After Peter learnt about phone apps, he took an interest in them. Peter's phone eventually broke because of the app overload and he gave it to Chris.

At school, acting upon the advice of Neil Goldman, Chris sent a girl he had a crush on a picture of his genitals through his cell phone. This landed Chris in Principal Shepherd's office with his parents and Joe.

Despite their assurance that Chris would apologise, Joe told him this act of child pornography had made him a sex offender, much to Lois' chagrin. When the news of Chris' blunder got out through the news, Chris was told he must take a rehab course, taught by Quagmire.

Reluctantly, Chris agreed for it and completed the course. In the end, he passed it, but he found himself snubbed by society due to his earlier act.
